The year of 2009 attracted 13 foreign direct investment projects with an investment of 30.3 million USD and decreased 48% on the number of project over the same period, decreased 86.8% in capital over the same period. The caused impact of world economy as a result of decreasing on foreign investment.
The investment projects are mainly focused on a number of industries such as textiles, manufacturing of household products, engineering, agricultural processing products and real estate.
In addition, the province has attracted ODA funding projects by Korean investors to implement Hoa Khanh Tay Water Plant in Duc Hoa district and water pipeline system with design capacity up to 80,000 cubic meters per day; the total of ODA funding in phase 1 was 30 million USD, the project has been signed by the Prime Minister on loan agreement with South Korea. Simultaneously, received urban environment planning projects funded by the European Commission with the total cost of 351,200 Euro; in which the European Commission funded 316,080 Euro and represented 90% of project cost, the local counterpart capital was 35,120 Euro.
In addition, there were 18 non-governmental organizations came to assess, survey locations for the implementation charity projects. There were 20 projects and none profit projects of nongovernmental organizations with real value of 1,316,914 USD.
